AGRO4AGRI’s In-person Third General Assembly in Santander: Progress, Milestones and Future Steps

The AGRO4AGRI Project recently held its third General Assembly in Santander, Cantabria, focusing on the first year’s progress, milestones, and future steps. The meeting featured fruitful discussions and brainstorming sessions aimed at developing innovative agrochemical solutions under the Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) framework. These solutions are designed to enhance fertiliser efficiency and reduce the use of traditional agrochemicals.

 

The event was held on the 8th and 9th of May – one year after its kick-off – at the facilities of the project partner Centro Tecnológico CTC in Santander, Cantabria (ES). All the other partners in the consortium were present, including the coordinator AINIA (ES), the University of Southern Denmark – SDU (DK), the Technical University of Denmark – DTU (DK), Fundación Grupo Cajamar (ES), Research Centre Hoogstraten (BE), SIPCAM OXON (IT), Institute for Advanced Studies Vienna – IHS (AT), Syspro (ES), Mirat Fertilizantes (ES), FI Group (PT) and  Optimat (UK).

Day 1: Presentations and Guided Tour

The first day saw each work package presenting their first-year results and outlining the next steps. The assembly addressed major issues related to the project’s execution and introduced Aintzane Esturo from the IFU International Fruit and Vegetable Juice Association as one of the EEAB members. The day concluded with a guided tour of the stunning city of Santander and a consortium dinner.

 

Day 2: Workshops and Facility Visits

The second day began with a workshop on societal readiness and reflexivity, led by IHS. This was followed by a visit to the CTC facilities. Throughout both days, parallel meetings were held, focusing on specific and detailed collaborations between project partners.

The assembly provided a platform for in-depth discussions and strategic planning, ensuring the project’s continued success and innovation in the agrochemical sector.
