Participation in RPP12 Conference on Recombinant Protein Production
The 12th Conference on Recombinant Protein Production (RPP12), organized by the European Federation of Biotechnology, gathered leading experts to explore advances in microbial biotechnology, bioprocess engineering, and protein production systems. This biennial event is a key platform for innovation in biotechnology and sustainable solutions.
Focus on Cutting-Edge Science
RPP12 addressed topics such as chassis development, bioprocess optimization, and model-based approaches for improving recombinant protein production.
Networking and Collaboration
Researchers, industry professionals, and technology providers exchanged knowledge and built partnerships to accelerate biotechnological advancements.
AGRO4AGRI’s Contribution
At the event, Julián Calleja, representing our coordinator AINIA, presented a poster detailing AGRO4AGRI’s progress on recombinant RNAi production in bacteria. The project highlighted how RNA interference can deliver highly targeted pest control, significantly reducing chemical pesticide use and supporting sustainable agriculture. This technology enables precise gene silencing, minimising off-target effects and protecting non-target species and ecosystems, avoiding the ecological and health risks linked to conventional pesticides. These advances align with Horizon Europe’s vision for Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) solutions.
Building Bridges Between Biotech and Agriculture
AGRO4AGRI’s participation in RPP12 highlights the power of collaboration between biotechnology and agriculture. By partnering with leading experts in protein production and microbial engineering, we’re driving innovation in crop protection and advancing sustainable farming solutions.
