SCIENTIFIC PUBLICATION #2 | AGRO4AGRI Publishes Article on Societal Readiness Thinking for Responsible Agricultural Innovation

Partners from the AGRO4AGRI consortium have published a scientific article titled “Societal Readiness Thinking Process 2.0: A Tool for Responsible Innovation in Agricultural Technologies” in the journal Science and Engineering Ethics (Springer). This publication introduces a framework to ensure that agricultural innovations are developed responsibly, considering societal needs and ethical implications.

About the Publication

The article presents the Societal Readiness Thinking Process 2.0, designed to help researchers and innovators:

  • Anticipate societal challenges early in technology development.
  • Integrate stakeholder perspectives into decision-making.
  • Align innovations with Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) principles and EU regulatory requirements.

The approach is applied to emerging agricultural solutions such as biostimulantsRNA-based technologies, and nanoparticles, ensuring these innovations are scientifically sound, socially acceptable, and environmentally responsible.
